The animated short “Peyotl” (“Peyote”), based on the graphic novel “El polvo de los antepasados,” tells the story of the death of mask sculptor José Guadalupe Reyes, who lost his life during a peyote ritual in the late nineteenth century colonial desert highlands of Mexico.
